FAQs

Q: Is mothulity the same thing as Mothur?

A: No. Mothur is a project developed by Pat Schloss and his collaborators.

Q: Why do I need mothulity if there is Mothur?

A: To save your time and efforts.

Q: How do I install mothulity?

A: With pip:

pip install --user mothulity

Using a virtual environment is advised. Not because mothulity is badly desined and has spaghetti-tangled dependencies hell. It is just a good practise. Especially, if you want to have your own, custom installation of Mothur alongside.

Q: Do I have to install Mothur in order to run mothulity?

A: No. mothulity comes with Mothur Inside.

Q: I tried to run mothulity. It tells me something about databases! What is this? Your software does not work!

A: mothulity needs databases to work its magic. Use mothulity_dbaser to download your favourite database with a single command.

Q: I tried mothulity and I love it! How do I cite?

A: We, Dariusz Izak and Agnieszka Gromadka, are working on publishing mothulity. Until now, you can use link to mothulity repository
